Welcome to our new Co-DC, Susan Ballek!

Susan Ballek is a C2 graduate of CVPC, participating in Club activities in the 1980's and early 1990's. She is still an active eventer, competing as an amateur at the novice and training level at USEA recognized events in Area 1 and Area 2 throughout the year. Susan also enjoys competing in recognized dressage shows at 1st level. She coached the original CVPC/SVPC Wild Things games team for several years, including at their 1st trip to USPC National Champs in Kentucky, and later at the President's Cup at Fair Hill in Maryland. She has also served as an Assistant Horse Management Judge at regional eventing and games rallies.

Professionally, Susan has held leadership positions at non-profit cultural art institutions for 20 years. Most recently, she served as Executive Director of the Lyme Art Association in Old Lyme from 2009 - 2013, and was the Executive Director and CEO of Hill-Stead Museum in Farmington, CT from 2013 - 2019. Susan's husband is a professional equestrian from Spain, and together they enjoy hiking and skiing when they are not competing their horses.

We had another festive, but WARM, holiday party.  Great way to kick off the 2020 year!

CVPC had a great day at Granby Quiz Rally!  Once again the Granby Pony Club ran a fun and well organized rally.  Our team stepped up to the Senior D division because of one member being 13 - so competition was a step up and they did great!  They came in 2nd Place for their division and Helen Sharp won an award for a perfect score on her written test!  Congratulations to Constance Sharp, Helen Sharp, Phoebe Evans and Ann-Marie Hinckley!!

The NYUC Regional Youth Board is looking for members. This is a great way for members to network with members from other clubs within the region. This board ran the Rallies 101 we hosted in April that several of our members participated in.The group does various educational opportunities and fundraising. Being a member of a regional youth board can open the door to the national Youth Congress for anyone looking for future leadership opportunities. In order to join the Youth Board, a member must be 13 years old and a D3 or higher rating. I have contact information for anyone interested.

NYUC fundraisers:

To help fund NYUC activities (Regional Rallies, Champs shirts & refunds) we are looking for gate keepers & test runners for dressage shows at HITS in Saugerties, NY August 18-20 & September 22-23. This raises $1,000 per show for the region.
Please contact Ann Guptill if you are interested in helping out.
